Headingley is well served with a comprehensive bus service both into and out of the city centre and University and you never have to wait long for a bus. Headingley is conveniently located on the A660, a main road both into and out of the city centre and is very convenient to get to the main motorway network and the M1 M62, M621 and A1 are in very easy reach. Burley Park train station is located just off the Cardigan Road and makes it even easier to get into and out the city centre.
Headingley has plenty of excellent shops that make life that little bit easier. There is a Sainsbury’s a Morrisons, Wilkinsons, Superdrug, O2 & Carphone Warehouse. There are also some great independent shops, such as Azendi , which offers Jewellery and gifts.
Headingley is home to the fantastic Cottage Road cinema a gorgeous period, independent picture house, that shows all of the latest releases. There are also some really fantastic bars in Headingley, such as Trio, Havana The Box & The Arc and some great pubs like The Syrack, The Original Oak and Woodies. Headingley is also home of the infamous Otley Run, the largest pub crawl in Leeds, taking in 16 bars and pubs. The famous Headnigley stadium, home of the Leeds Rhinos & Yorkshire Cricket and host of world class international cricket, is also on the doorstep.
Headingley residents are spoilt for choice with a huge array of excellent restaurants to choose from. There is the award winning Salvo’s Italian restaurant, the fantastic Sukhothai, Thai restaurant, Pizza Express, Trio, Bryans Fish and Chips and the fantastic and unique Reds True Barbecue. There are also a few gems such as the fantastic Love Rouge bakery and Ecco Pizzeria. If that’s not enough Headingley is populated with cafes, sandwich bars and Shakeys a gourmet milk shake shop.
